Book Launch: Undoing Border Imperialism with Harsha Walia
January 29, 2014 - 12:30pm - 2:30pm
Harry Hickman Building, Room 116
Victoria BC

Undoing Border Imperialism is an exciting new book that situates immigrant rights movements within a transnational analysis of capitalism, labour exploitation, settler colonialism, state building, and racialized empire. By providing the alternative conceptual frameworks of border imperialism and decolonization, this work offers relevant insights for all grassroots and social movement organizers on effective strategies to overcome the barriers and borders within our movements in order to cultivate fierce, loving, and sustainable communities of resistance striving toward liberation. Books will be available to purchase at the event. This event is presented by CAPI, the Asian Canadian Working Group, the Centre for Global Studies and the Departments of Women's Studies and History at the University of Victoria.
